Using information I learned at the Chicken Breeder’s Gazette, and here, I am attempting to create my own strain of Grey Gamefowl. I started with a Sweater/blue face cross rooster and a sweater hen. I obtained these fowl from a trusted friend but know nothing about their pedigree or source of origin. So out of two clutches hatched last spring I picked the rooster and two hens I liked best. I plan on inbreeding them at least once and then start a line breed. It will take years to see if the experiment works but I hope to cull hard and see some great results. Here are some pictures. You will notice my stag is in need of dubbing. He is almost ten months old and next new moon, he will be sporting a different hairdo. I welcome any comments, tips or other feedback.

I wish you the best of luck. From the pictures, they look good, and are good to get you started. I really like the hens!

        Hello Robert,

I noticed that you used the “Docs” to download your pictures. I will fix that, but next time use the “Picture Icon” on the far right of the forum text tool bar. You can see it in the picture below.

It will work much faster and easier this way.

Also, if you use the adjustment on the far left, you can enlarge the font size. I like to use the 150% size. See the picture below.

Let me know if you have any questions

        thanks so much

        Kenny

      Hello Robert,

I am new to the breeders academy. I wanted to ask you if you could post some recent pictures of the same trio that you posted in January? I think we all would enjoy seeing the maturation of your new line. Breeding season is almost here. Hope to hear from you when you have a chance.

      Stay Game,

      Edwin101
