I have never had to deal with cocci before and now I have an outbreak.  A bad one.  Plenty of bloody stool.  I cannot cull as these are the only birds I have to work with and cannot afford to start over.  I am on my 3rd round of corrid, using 2 tsp/ gallon for a week, changing out daily.  Pens cleaned but I didn’t put down a disinfectant.  Is that what threw me off?  I talked to my vet this week and she suggested I use a reduced dose for another 2 weeks, which I will try.  My birds are all between 2 and 4 months old.  Should I use a probiotic with the corrid?  I see mixed info on that.  Vet wasn’t 100% positive.  (She helps me as best as she can but she is not an avian vet, but a large animal/pet vet.  When she doesn’t know an answer she tries to find one for me)
