@Hello!
Between eggs that I’ve reserved for hatching from my breeders and an increased demand for eggs from my layer flock, I’m all tapped out of extra eggs at the moment.
At the same time, I’m overrun with duck eggs. Which is good because at least I don’t have to buy eggs from the store 🙂
Are there any issues with feeding these back to my flock? I’m mainly concerned about potential issues with the increased fat content. Or are the differences not worth overthinking this?

That’s a great question. I’ve fed my extra chicken eggs back to my chicks and growers for years and believe there are many benefits. But like you said, duck eggs are much different than chicken eggs. I’ve never done that before.
I found this online, on one of the forums. Maybe this will help.
“Yes, you can feed chickens duck eggs. I also have a surplus of duck eggs that get either scrambled or hard boiled and crushed (shell and all) and fed to my chickens. They are a great source of protein during this molt season and when hard boiled and crushed they provide a healthy calcium source.”

Thank you so much. I had a feeling that I was overthinking this. I just know that it took me quite a bit of time to adjust to duck eggs. As small as these chickens are comparatively, I didn’t want to throw their systems completely off.
