In chickens, broodiness seems to have become an unwanted trait. A broody hen isn’t laying and thus not being productive so many breeders select away from it and in many cases have eliminated it from their line. If its selected out, will it ever show up in that line again? Is there ever a way of getting it back without introducing outside blood?

This was by far the most comprehensive lesson on Avian Influenza that I have heard. It was wonderful to understand why depopulation of flocks has to happen from a scientific, medical perspective and no conspiracy theories. Thank you so much! I’m late to the Academy, but so glad I came.

I have learned so much from these interviews! Great content! Easy for a backyard hobbyist to follow and understand. I feel very empowered having this knowledge where as before, illness in my flock frightened me into making bad choices. Thank you and Dr. Gallardo!
