just confuse how i can clan mate if my head of the line is hen. My idea is 3 hens to 1 cock per line. Does that mean clone hens will stay and rotate the doner cock. -
You are right, you cannot clan mate using hens to head the separate clans.
But you can line-breed with hens. Just make sure you are using the 3 line solution as used in the founders program.
As far as using a reoccurring parent vs a “donor” parent, as used in backcrossing, it’s the reoccurring parent you breed to, and discard the donor parent.
We are getting ready to do a Master Class Video on Clan Mating and this should answer many of your questions as well.
I do recommend following the Founders Program from the beginning.
